That means every piece of sushi is as fresh as can be. Sushi is about the taste of rice! And they take it seriously! They use two special kinds: one perfect for sushi and the other sticky and sweet, just right for pairing with their delicious dishes.

Sushi Kanazawa

  • Location: 360 Orchard Rd, #02-13 International Building

Here, every sushi piece is a masterpiece created by a chef with over 30 years of experience. Their top picks include Tamago Sushi, Sushi Platter, Tako Sushi, Salmon Belly Sushi, and Swordfish Sashimi.

Sushi Kanazawa

Their Omakase, a chef-curated dinner, is famous for its direct chef-customer interactions. You simply let the chef know your preferences, and watching them work is a treat in itself. Trying an ‘omakase buffet’ was a new adventure for us, but it wasn’t awkward at all! The chef happily suggests items you might enjoy and serves favorites promptly and consistently. The chef adds a touch of humor and friendliness, making it a hidden gem in Orchard’s belt.

Each sushi piece is freshly prepared and served to your plate, made right in front of you. Don’t miss their Aburi sushi! The Omakase dining-style sushi buffet offers both Aburi and Nigiri types. Whether you choose a la carte or the Omakase journey, the staff is quick and friendly. It’s not your regular buffet; it’s more like an all-you-can-eat sushi experience in Singapore, which is why it’s pricier. But the sushi is always fresh, and the price is much more reasonable compared to similar high-end sushi restaurants.

Sushi Selection: Omakase sushi is basically like a special menu handpicked by the chef. It’s all about trying the best they have to offer, including different types of sushi and sashimi. You’ll get to taste both the classics and seasonal favorites, all made with super-fresh ingredients.

Recommended Visitors: They offer an Omakase-style buffet with handmade sushi! It’s perfect for anyone looking for a relaxed and tasty dining experience. It’s great for a couple’s dates!

Tips to Consider! The cost per person is too expensive.

Hakumai Japanese restaurant:

Hakumai Sushi & Omakase is a hidden gem! This Japanese restaurant is at 10 Anson Rd, #01-50A International Plaza. The place has a nice, welcoming feeling and friendly staff. What makes Hakumai unique is that they’re really serious about making Japanese food the right way. They use the freshest stuff, like rice from Niigata Prefecture and seafood from Tsukiji Market in Japan.

Try their Sashimi & Sushi Omakase plan for fresh sashimi. The sushi rice is also tasty. One dish that we loved was the Aka Ebi Foie Gras Sushi. It had sweet prawn and rich foie gras that tasted amazing together. And the Truffle Chawanmushi was good, too. It’s a kind of delicious egg custard with a truffle flavor.

But the best part of the meal here is talking to Chef Gary. He’s been cooking Japanese food for a long time and knows a lot. He even adds his own twist to traditional dishes. He takes time to chat with diners and tell them about the food he is making! We recommend it to anyone who wants to try authentic Japanese food in a nice atmosphere.

Standing Sushi Bar:

Standing Sushi Bar is an excellent place for sushi lovers! They have different ways to enjoy sushi, like getting it delivered, getting sushi cakes, or choosing from various sushi platters. You can find a wide selection of sushi, salmon slices, and rolled sushi, all tasting fresh and well-made.

One thing that stands out is how good the service is. It’s a popular spot, so it’s smart to call ahead and book a table. They also have options for people who don’t eat meat, like vegetarian sushi platters. The prices may be high, but they have promotions that can help you save money.

Another set is the Unagi & Tempura Set. It comes with grilled eel, crispy tempura, steamed egg custard, pickles, miso soup, rice, and salad. Everything’s cooked perfectly, especially the crisp and delicious tempura. Also, try the Dragon Maki, a sushi roll with spicy soft-shell crab and crispy crab stick.

Koji Sushi Bar:

Koji Sushi Bar has two locations, one at Raffles City Shopping Centre and the other at Nankin Row. It’s a cool place to eat Japanese food in a casual setting. They focus on using fresh seafood and serving it fast and cheap during the day for office workers. At night, they switch to a fancier menu called omakase.

You can try different dishes like wagyu beef and pork cheek rice bowls, Shirako (a special fish dish), Kome sashimi set, and cold beancurd with sea urchin. You can choose between white or brown rice for sushi, but we went with white because it’s more traditional.
