Mitsuba

Mitsuba is a go-to spot for anyone craving Japanese cuisine. They serve various dishes, from classic rolls to fresh sashimi, temaki, appetizers, and teppanyaki; there’s something for every palate. While the food presentation is top-notch, the consistency in quality can be hit or miss. Mitsuba boasts an impressive selection of over 130 dishes. They offer three menu options: Buffet, Premium Buffet, and All-you-can-eat. The Wagyu beef is a standout, and the staff are super friendly. Plus, the restaurant is spacious, which is always a plus.

However, for the premium price, you’d like a decent selection of desserts–But only mochis are included, and anything else will cost you extra. So, beware of that!
Type of Buffet: When it comes to the buffet vibe, Mitsuba has a spacious setting and good vibes all around. Their speciality? The thick-cut sashimi and sushi rolls, along with the mouthwatering food presentation. Plus, their customer service? Quick and amazing.
Top Japanese Dishes: Sashimi Moriawase, Sake Aburi, Spider Temaki, California Maki, Miso Shiru, Yakitori, Yasai Tempura, and Chawanmushi with salmon roe.
Keep in mind! The food quality can be a bit all over the place. You might get good quality food or end up with a case of food poisoning. And it can be quite pricey for what you get.

Shin Minori offers two cosy locations, so you can choose the one closest to you–Rest assured, the service at both spots is top-notch. Choose from over 160 dishes waiting for you, covering everything from sashimi to various types of sushi, teppanyaki, tempura, ramen, and much more.

One of the highlights for us was the Ebi Tempura.
They also offer a variety of grilled chicken intestine dishes, like the Grilled Chicken Liver with Sweet Soy Sauce, which is worth trying. Lastly, the service staff are friendly and efficient, and ordering through a QR code ensures your food arrives quickly.
Type of Buffet: From their Great La Carte Buffet, which includes a 1-for-1 birthday celebration deal valid from Monday to Thursday, to their Omizu buffet, where you can enjoy a wide array of Japanese cuisine, there’s something for everyone. They even have a Kanpai Buffet, which includes free-flow alcoholic beverages alongside their Omizu Buffet selection. Top Japanese Dishes: Crispy Ebi Tempura, gizzard dishes. Sushi (includes various types like Nigiri, Maki, and Sashimi), Mushimono, Teppanyaki dishes, Agemono, Yakimono, Gohan & Men, and Nabemono.
Keep in mind! While the Japanese seafood is good, some people find it a bit mediocre for the price(Oysters aren’t that fresh). And watch out for small portions and slow service.

You can try juicy Wagyu beef cubes, creamy lobster porridge, crispy salmon head, tasty tataki, fresh sashimi, and more. The white Tuna is hard to find, but they serve it! What makes Kushi special is their commitment to freshness.

They get most of their ingredients from Tokyo’s Tsukiji Fish Market, so everything tastes amazing. We loved the decor, but some people might find it mediocre. And be prepared; it can get a bit pricey. Even kids have to pay up to S$36.80, and they’ll charge you for any leftovers. Still, if you love Japanese food, Kushi Dining Bar is the place to be.

- Contact: +65 6272 1110
- Price Range: $52.80++ to $60++
Himawari has all the classics like California rolls, Ebiko sushi, and spider hand rolls–But what makes them stand out is their special Himawari Keki, also known as the sushi cake. At Himawari, you can enjoy sukiyaki hotpot with your choice of soup for each table, thinly sliced marbled beef, and other meats. Remember that you need at least two people to dine here.
Their Japanese a la carte buffet offers great value for money. The sashimi servings will remind you of being in Japan. The sukiyaki portions are big and super filling. Just picture layers of delicious sushi made with fresh sashimi and Japanese rice. While it might not be the cheapest option for solo diners, the pricing is great for groups and families.
And if you’re feeling extra hungry, try their Shabu Shabu buffet—it’s worth it. Just make reservations ahead of time. And don’t forget to save room for Japanese desserts.
Type of Buffet: A Japanese buffet with no time limit–If you’re a big sushi fan, Himawari is the place to go. It’s perfect for those of us who love to eat a lot. The service is friendly, and the atmosphere feels homely.
Top Japanese Dishes: Sukiyaki, EBI Tempura, Sashimi Set (Maguro, Salmon, and Hamachi), Shabu Shabu, Yakiniku Beef, Takoyaki, Fried Crab Cream Croquette, and Robatayaki (Seafood, Meat, Vegetarian).

SukiYa (金)
- Location: Multiple Locations
- Contact: Website
- Price Range: S$22.90 to S$40
We’ve been to a few Suki-Ya places, and they’re usually good, except for the one at Plaza Singapura. Aside from that, some are even halal. All outlets offer six different broths, like pork-based or soya miso. With six soup bases to choose from—Shabu Shabu, Sukiyaki, Butaniku, Tomato, Kimuchi, and Fresh Soy Miso—you’re bound to find something you enjoy.
You get all-you-can-eat Shabu Shabu and Sukiyaki at good prices. Their shabu shabu buffet is affordable and has lots to choose from. The premium buffet is also good, with meat, seafood, and fried foods.
The soups are just right, not too bland. You can eat lots of chicken, pork, and beef and dip them in sauces like ponzu, sesame, or egg. Want something warm and tasty? Try their Japanese hotpot! It won’t cost you too much. If you want fancier beef or seafood, add $10.90. If you’re vegetarian, this might not be the best place for you since it’s mostly meat.
Type of Buffet: Perfect for people who love hotpot, sukiyaki, and shabu-shabu. You’ll find some fantastic buffet deals here if you’re in a big group or planning a family outing. Most Sukiya outlets in Singapore are officially halal-certified (313@Somerset, Century Square, and Changi City Point).
Top Japanese Dishes: Six soup bases, Beef Slices, Pork Slices, Chicken Balls with Cheese Filling, Pork Balls with Cheese Filling, Udon, Glass Noodles, Wagyu Beef, Iberico Pork, Duroc Pork Collar, and Seafood.
Keep in mind! It’s not the best as a 1-for-1 Japanese buffet deal. And remember, there’s a $3 fee for dining on weekends, public holidays, or the eve of special occasions. The place can get pretty noisy, too, despite not being fully packed.

That one includes all the regular stuff plus some top-notch Wagyu beef, which is super tender and delicious. And the best part? It’s a good deal! The prices vary depending on when you visit. The restaurant has a nice ambiance with comfortable air conditioning. The ventilation is good, so it’s a great spot to enjoy your favorite hotpot dishes. The food overall is good, especially the hot pot with sukiyaki soup, baby lobster mala, and fresh oysters.
We tried the sukiyaki soup base, which tasted slightly sweet, and other options like spicy tomato and miso. They also had a good selection of dips and sauces to complement the dishes. Overall, while the buffet concept is promising, the restaurant needs to improve the quality of certain dishes.

Azmaya
At Azmaya, you’ll find generous portions of authentic Japanese Sukiyaki and Shabu-Shabu, perfect for sharing with friends or family. We see it as one of the best Japanese buffets due to its Japanese A4 Wagyu beef, beef tongue, and oden. Aside from that, they offer a variety of soup bases and high-quality meats that will satisfy your cravings. It’s a cozy spot with a traditional Japanese hotpot vibe that stands out.
We opted for the shabu shabu and dined indoors. If you prefer barbecue, be aware that there are additional charges. For an added treat, consider upgrading to their unlimited alcohol option for an extra $40++, including sake and highballs. They also offer a Snow crab & beef buffet priced at around $80 per person for set B. Their pork options are also quite tasty if beef isn’t your thing.
Like any typical buffet hotpot, you can try a variety of vegetables, sauces, kimchi, and soup. Service could be improved due to limited staff. Nonetheless, the Australian Wagyu BBQ option was excellent, and the alcohol-free flow package was worth it.
Type of Buffet: Azmaya offers an all-you-can-eat Japanese buffet featuring Sukiyaki and Shabu-Shabu, with outdoor seating options.
Top Japanese Dishes: Sukiyaki, Shabu-Shabu, Snow crab, Oden, Japanese Wagyu slices, Beef tongue, Japanese Curry, Raw egg, Pork, Salmon sashimi, Fried chicken, Vegetables (various types available at the buffet), Sauces, and Soup bases (Bonito Flakes, Tomato, Tonkotsu, Seaweed).
